Boa constrictor in Fall River apartment eludes capture

PDF Print E-mail

The plan is to set a trap in the attic. Authorities say the snake poses no threat to humans.

City animal control supervisor Cindy Berard tells The Herald News the concern is for the safety of the snake, native to warmer climates, because it cannot survive New England winters.

No one has claimed to be the snake’s owner.

Update: Boa cought! Robert Schenck  (pictured) owns a local pet store that captured 5-foot-long, 15-pound snake and took it in. Schenck said the animal, which is not a Bay State native, is sick and underweight.
